These positions are based on enrollment for Marine Science Camp - 3 teachers per building.

Voluntary Transfer Request Form –MARINE SCIENCE CAMP

 

9 positions total available to teach at Marine Science Camp at Cedar Heights, John Sedgwick, and Marcus Whitman 7/15/24 – 7/19/24 from 8:30am – 2:30pm.

 

The Marine Science Teacher position will support 2024 Marine Science Camp program, which will take place from July 15, 2024, through July 19, 2024. Instruction will occur within three middle school buildings (Cedar Heights, John Sedgwick, & Marcus Whitman) for one week, Monday through Friday. Teacher training and preparation are scheduled for July 10-12, 2024. The approximate schedule is 8:30 am- 2:30 pm, with students in the building from 9:00 am- 2:00 pm from July 15-19, 2024.

 

The selected candidate will work a minimum of 35 hours to meet the needs of this program and will be compensated at their per diem rate of pay, inclusive of benefits, to be distributed on the August 2023 payroll. The tentative required commitment of hours is outlined as follows:

Teaching positions will be based on enrollment and may remain unfilled or canceled unless enrollment is sufficient for the program to be operational. Instructional sites may be combined if enrollment/staffing is insufficient for the program to be operational. 

 

The primary learning focus for the program is for current 5th-7th graders to bring STEM concepts to life and spark students’ curiosity in the future of space exploration.
