This position is open to acting principals, certificated staff that hold an administrative credential and interns currently working on obtaining administrative credential. What a great opportunity to learn and grow within your desired profession!

 

Summer Programs Voluntary Transfer

 

The Summer Academy will take place from June 24, 2024, through July 19, 2024, to be held at Marcus Whitman Middle School. Instruction will occur on a Monday through Thursday schedule, 3 hours per day of student instruction except for the week of July 1-3, 2024. The selected candidate(s) will work a maximum of 91 hours to meet the needs of this program.

 

Professional Qualifications

  • Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate, have leadership experience, and/ or enrolled in a certificated Administrative Internship Program;
  • Academic background in staff supervision, staff development, and curriculum instruction.

Conditions of Employment

  • Summer Academy employment will commence upon the date of hire and the successful candidate will be responsible for academy preparation and support during the duration of the program. Summer Academy will run from June 24, 2024, through July 19, 2024.
  • Total compensation will be paid in the form of a $7,500 stipend, inclusive of benefits, to be distributed on the August 2024 payroll. For any travel between sites, mileage forms will need to be completed for reimbursement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists with organizing and overseeing the Summer Academy Program;
  • Participates in the selection of Summer Academy Teachers and support staff;
  • Provides on-site supervision for Summer Academy students and staff;
  • Work with District Administration on developing and facilitating professional learning for staff;
  • Assists staff members in matters of discipline, counseling, and community relations;
  • Monitors student attendance to ensure it is recorded and communicate with families of non-engaged learners;
  • Prepares final reports, including student grade reports with feedback provided by applicable Summer Academy Teachers;
  • Communicates regularly with other applicable District Administration regarding program updates;
  • Has the ability to see things from a fresh and innovative perspective;
  • Values and celebrates diversity;
  • Values student achievement.
